A Leaf In Which Leaf Blade (Margined) Is
Incised Up To The Midrib Or Petiole Thus
Dividing Into Two Or More Segments Called
Leaflets.
It May Be Of Following Types :
(1) Palmatly Compound Leaf :
A Compound Leaf In Which Many Leaflets
Attached At The Tip Of Single Petiole.
It May Be Following Types :
(a) Unifoliate :
A Palmately Compound Leaf With
Single Leaflet Developed From The Tip Of
Petiole.
e.g. Citrus.
(b) Bifoliate :
A palmateli compound with Two Leaflet.
e.g. Prinsepia.
(c) Trifoliate - Three Leaflet
e.g. Oxalis.
(d) Quadrifoliate : Four 🍀 Leaflet.
e.g. Marcelia.
(e) Pentafoliate : Five 🌿 Leaflet.
(f) Multifoliate : Many Leaflets.
e.g. Bombax.
(2) Pinnately Compound Leaf :
A Compound Leaf In Which Leaflets
Are Arranged Along The Sides Of The Rachis.
e.g. Cycas.
It May Be Following Types :
(a) Paripinnate : A Unipinnate Leaf With Even
Numbers Of Leaflets.
e.g. Cassia.
(b) Imparipinnate :
A Unipinnate Leaf With Odd Number Of Leaflets.
e.g. Rose 🌹
(c) Bipinnate :
A Pinnately Compound Leaf With Two Leaflets.
e.g. Acassia.
(d) Decompound Leaf :
A Compound Leaf Which Is More Than Thrice
Pinnate.
e.g. Coriandrum.
